Ravi Mehta SynopsisIn the past year, Apple's App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch applications has become one of the fastest growing platforms in the games space. Games dominate the top paid apps section in the App Store, and both independent developers and major publishers have found fortune on the iPhone. The App Store has also opened up a new type of entertainment that are some are calling "funware". These cheap, lightweight apps, such as Smule's Ocarina, use the principles of effective game design to provide an approachable, mass market entertainment expeirence. In this session, we'll talk about what it takes to design and develop compelling games and "funware" for the iPhone and iPod Touch. | |
